About

Who I am, what I care about, and what I’m working toward.
Hi — I’m Saad Nawaz.
I work at Audi AG as a System Engineer for Radar & Lidar Perception, focusing on the development, validation, and integration of perception systems for advanced driver assistance and automated driving applications.
Alongside my industry role, I am pursuing a PhD in the validation of radar perception systems through synthetic edge case generation at RWTH Aachen University. My doctoral research aims to improve the robustness, reliability, and systematic validation of perception systems by leveraging synthetic data to uncover rare and safety-critical scenarios. In parallel, I am affiliated with AImotion Bavaria as an external doctoral student, contributing to research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and future mobility.
My technical interests include radar and multi-sensor perception, system validation, synthetic data generation, signal processing, and the design of explainable and dependable engineering systems. A central theme of my work is bridging academic research with industrial practice, ensuring that theoretical advances translate into measurable real-world impact.
I live in Ingolstadt, Germany, and am actively involved in the local community. I contribute to volunteer networks through my affiliation with the Parents’ Council of the Städtische Simon Mayr Sing- und Musikschule, as well as the Integration and Culture Club Ingolstadt, supporting initiatives related to education, integration, and cultural exchange.
In addition to my professional and academic work, I serve as Secretary of the IEEE Computer Society Germany Section Chapter, contributing to the organization of technical activities and knowledge exchange within the engineering and research community.
Outside of work and research, I spend time on volunteering, and I recharge through sports, travel, and learning languages and their etymology.
